At Unfolded, we’re passionate about capturing the story of each project - not just the final result, but the journey of design, collaboration, and construction. Unfolding Ettalong Beach is a reflection of that: a behind-the-scenes look at how this beautiful Class 2 coastal development is taking shape.

This project is a true collaboration between architect, developer, builder, and interior designer - a carefully orchestrated team working together to bring this vision to life. As interior designers, our role began from the early stages, working closely with both the architect and developer to ensure every spatial decision supports functionality, aesthetics, and the lifestyle of future residents.

For Class 2 buildings, the level of detail required is immense. Every material, fixture, and layout choice must consider compliance, durability, and design cohesion. From joinery set-outs to ceiling heights, window treatments to lighting placement — every element needs thoughtful coordination. We ensure to have various on-site meetings to review progress, assess materials in context, and align the design with construction realities.

In the meantime, while the build has been underway, we’ve also worked closely with Pair Studio to create a suite of rendered images that beautifully illustrate what the completed development will look and feel like. These visuals have played an important role in telling the story of the space before it’s physically complete - giving buyers and collaborators a clear vision of what’s to come. Currently, we’re about six months out from completion. Paint colours, lighting installations, texture finishes, and curtain details are being finalised. Given the project’s coastal location, we’ve carefully considered material selections to ensure durability and performance in this environment.

Special credit goes to the architectural team, who have expertly coordinated consultants - from lighting and engineering to compliance and aesthetic cohesion. The builders continue to bring the design to life with precision and care. This journal isn’t just about showcasing a project - it’s about celebrating the layers of detail, thought, and teamwork that go into a space before the furniture even arrives. Great design starts well before the styling stage. Interior design, when integrated early, helps shape homes that are not only beautiful but truly liveable - where form, flow, and finish all work in harmony.
